Global cryptocurrency exchange platform, KuCoin, recently launched a decentralized NFT marketplace named Windvane. The firm just made an announcement that its venture capital, KuCoin Ventures, has partnered with Windvane to launch a $100 million ‘creators fund’.

According to the press release by KuCoin, NFT categories on the marketplace include GameFi, art, profile photos (PFPs), and celebrities. The ‘Creators Fund’ will be inviting 99 NFT artists to join the marketplace.

What To Know About Windvane

Windvane is a new NFT marketplace founded by KuCoin. The platform will offer NFT minting, trading, maintenance, and storage, among other services. According to KuCoin, Windvane will focus on building a sophisticated and extremely congruent system that will actively support conventional NFT blockchain networks like ETH, BSC, FLOW, etc, enabling users to choose from all NFTs on the KuCoin cross-chain intermediary.

The NFT marketplace’s goal is to become a one-stop shopping place for the world’s finest NFTs. The CEO of KuCoin, Johnny Lyu, said that Windvane would like to “bridge Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 by supporting more creators to launch their NFTs or projects and creating a more integrated NFT world with a lower barrier to entry for users.”

KuCoin debuted back in September 2017 and right now, there are more than 600 cryptocurrencies available for trading on the platform. The company’s headquarters is located in Singapore, and according to CoinGecko, KuCoin held a record of 10 million users at the end of 2021 and a daily exchange volume of around $2.2b, making it one of the top leading crypto trading platforms of the world. 

Spot trading, Margin trading, P2P fiat trading, futures trading, staking, and lending are currently available on the platform to all users. KuCoin was named by Forbes among the Best Crypto Exchanges of 2021, and  The Ascent also awarded it in the Best Crypto Exchanges and Apps in 2022.
