In a bid to strengthen its connections with Washington, Binance Holdings Ltd, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has appointed Brian Brooks as the new Chief Executive Officer of the U.S affiliated Binance, Wall Street Journal reported.
Per the report, Brian Brooks was the executive head of the Department of Comptroller of the Currency under the administration of Donald Trump.
Interestingly, Brooks has proven severally to be an unrelenting supporter of cryptocurrencies. Thus, noted his enthusiasm for cryptocurrencies since his reign at OCC.
As a matter of fact, various social media platforms saw the crypto lover being tagged “CryptoComptroller” on several posts. Further reports revealed that Brooks has paved pathways that allowed traditional institutions access to easily venture into the crypto space. His reign contributed to the provisions made for cryptocurrency custodial services at most banks.
Binance to Connect With US Regulators
As said earlier, the new move reflects Binance’s aspirations to win the hearts of the U.S regulators.
Prior to the appointment, the company has always aimed to strengthen its relationship with the US regulators.
This way, the company can legally operate in the country with due standards. Meanwhile, its association with Brooks would likely foster the achievements of the said goals.
Therefore, Brooks’ connection with the U.S regulators is certain to channel Binance.US into the circle.
It is no doubt that Brook’s new office suits his passion for the crypto world. According to him, He would commence duty as Binance.US’ CEO on May 1st, 2021.
